I’m “that American living in Austria”. I moved here in 2003, just for a year, originally, from where I grew up in southern Illinois near St. Louis. Well, one year led to another, which is when I met my husband, and then we got married, and now I have to stay here. I guess it’s only fair though, since my mom is Austrian and moved to the States when she got married. Tit for tat, right?
I’m a translator and English teacher. I have a cat called Kürbis (which is German for Pumpkin). Likes and dislikes: I love to sew, knit, garden and cook, though I don’t always do those things very well. I’m married and I love it! I don’t like sitting still. I don’t like bureaucrats who delight in following the law to the letter. I like science. I don’t like the weather in Austria: too boring and gray.
